Vivath Angkor Tours

Address:
#112, Group 7, Phum Salakanseng, Kum Svaydangkum, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Tour Angkor and explore Angkor civilization of Khmer Empire in the 9th - 12th centuries.

Vivath takes you on a tour to visit Angkor ruins where you not only gain an insight into Angkor civilization in the early centuries but also explore a great Empire of Khmers whose massive architectural masterpiece create wonderful temples that scatter across Cambodia, Thailand, and other parts of South East Asia.

Tour and Transportation
The best way of touring Angkor temples is to rent a private car or a motorcycle as there are too many temples to tour in a short period.  The number of Angkor temples you can visit depends on how much time or many days you stay in Siem Reap.  Some tourists make a rush one-day tour of Angkor and are satisfied at the end of the trip just to find out that they miss many beautiful temple ruins when they compare notes with their fellows back home.  It depends on how you define a good tour but the fact is that during your valuable tour you do not want to stroll around Angkor area that is about 24 km long and 13 km wide.  You need to tour the areas where you can explore the most.

Tour guide, Tour Access, Vehicle Rental, and Road Condition
You can book a tour guide and a car for your tour.  A driver is provided.

Banteay Srei, Beng Mealea, and Koh Ker temples, used to be difficult to access by vehicle, is now open to all kinds of vehicles as the road condition has been improved.

Angkor tour pass can be purchased at a drive-in ticket counter located on the main road to Angkor temples.  The Angkor tour pass is valid only for Angkor areas and Kbal Spean.  Children under the age of 12 can enter the tour sites free of charge.  See tour site entrance fees below.

Foreign visitors should carry at all times the tour pass as the tour site guards may request to see the pass.  A visitor who does not have a valid tour pass is subject to a fine of $30.

Other tour site passes are charged per visitor and per entrance:

  • Kulen Mountain: $20
  • Beng Mealea: $5
  • Koh ker : 10$

Angkor tour sites are controlled and maintained by a government tour agency "Apsara" while kulen mountain tour sites are controlled by a private organization that safeguards and maintains the areas.

Besides Angkor, we have other attractive places in Siem Reap town and Tonley Sap lake, a unique and the largest basin of fresh water in the world of its kind.  The lake, source of fresh water fish that can feeds the whole Cambodia, rises and recedes according to the seasons.  In dry season, the level of the water is low to the bottom of the lake while in in monsoon season it rises flooding the surrounding areas.  That is why we call a commune of people living on the lake a Floating Village.

A boat excursion trip can bee arrange to tour the floating village and the bird sanctuaries.
