Koh Dach, about half an hour by boat from Phnom Penh, a long strip of island in the Mekong rivers, is well known for silk farming and silk productions.  Many villagers on the island who learn the trades passed down by their ancestors still make a living by by producing silks their traditional way without any modern machinery.  So far, a couple of non-governmental organizations have provided an incentive for their dedication and determination of keeping their heritage by setting a market for their products.
