Nathan
Horton lives in Phnom Penh and is currently offering day to
day drop-in classes of Travel Photography in Phnom
Penh and / or longer tailor made tours of Cambodia.
With
20 years experience working in London, Asia and the
Caribbean for such titles as Elle Magazine, The Times and
Food and Travel Magazine, he is well qualified
to share his thoughts. He encourages anyone with a
camera (SLR, COMPACT - DIGITAL OR FILM ) who wants to start
taking better
pictures to join his classes.
In marked difference to other
photography tuition, this course emphasizes travel
photography that appreciates local people, their cultures,
traditions and religions, and encourages a positive impact
on the places and people it visits. Drop-in Classes in
Phnom Penh The class starts
with
a two hour lecture introducing basic technical skills,
compositional instruction and aesthetic considerations.
Nathan then helps to explain the tricky business of how to
photograph people in a foreign country without speaking the
language. He then takes the class out for 3 hours on a tour
of local market's, a Wat complex and then on to the
Lake for sun set, to practice what he has taught.
The
whole thing starts at 1 o'clock from Two Fish Gallery Cafe,
#9 , Street 278 (off Watt Lanka) Phnom Penh and pick ups can be arranged from Chakara Vision,
First Shop, Lakeside. The course costs $25 or $20 if booked
